Miguel Cabrera appears to be in good spirits, post surgery

Miguel Cabrera had surgery on his right ankle on Wednesday, the team announced two days later.

Initially intended just to remove bone spurs, the doctors encountered a surprise stress fracture while they were in there.

The slugger appeared to be in good spirits, though, in a photo posted to his fan page on Facebook, which can be seen here.

Cabrera will be re-examined in three months' time.
