A sometimes-irreverent look at Detroit's Boys of Summer, the Tigers, as they try to return to the top of the American League Central.

The Tigers have had a top five payroll for several years until this year, yet have no division titles to show for it. Dombrowski has not produced results commensurate with the resources that he has had to work with. He does not deserve a four year extension.
Jim Leyland, I think, gets the most effort out of the players that he is given to work with, but he makes some real bone headed, inexcusable decisions as well. No reason to bat Kelly second, continuing to bat Magglio third, putting Ryan Raburn in the infield at all, or pulling effective pitchers and putting in ineffective pitchers repeatedly in high leverage situations. He needs to be held accountable for those decisions, and he needs to know that they're not acceptable.
Replacing DD could set us back on the timetable, particularly if there is a personnel exit among those that DD has brought on board. But there is apparently no accountability in this decision. Results first, extensions later.
