A sometimes-irreverent look at Detroit's Boys of Summer, the Tigers, as they try to return to the top of the American League Central.
Monday, October 8, 2012
The Oakland A’s announced on Monday that left-hander Brett
Anderson will indeed get the start on Tuesday in Game 3 of the ALDS against the
Detroit Tigers and A.J. Griffin, a right-hander, will start Game 4.
Anderson has been dealing with an oblique strain that
occurred on Sept. 19. This will be his first appearance since that time. He has
a 4-2 record and 2.57 ERA in six starts during the 2012 season.
The lefty on the mound for Oakland means that the Tigers
will counter with the same lineup it had in Game 2, featuring Avisail Garcia in
right field and Gerald Laird behind the plate to catch for Anibal Sanchez. Jim
Leyland confirmed that on Monday, according to a tweet from The Detroit Free Press.
Major League Baseball also announced the start time for Game
4, should it be necessary. The A’s will host the Tigers on Wednesday at 9:37
p.m. ET and the game will air live on TNT.
