Out of Left Field live chat, Week 3

Time is getting slim.

The Tigers dropped their fourth straight game on Monday, falling to the Chicago White Sox, 6-1, falling three behind their I-94 rivals. It ended a seven-game winning streak over the Southsiders, but did it end any hope of the division title?

Probably not, with 21 games left.

"It's not slipping away at all," said catcher Gerald Laird, who personally participated in a far bigger comeback last year, as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Still, it's frustrating. Since that 9-8 loss to Kansas City a week and a half ago, the Tigers offense has put up 0, 1, 7, 5, 4, 2, 2, 7, 2, 1, 2 ... and now 1 Monday night.

"It's frustrating. We're battling. I know people are frustrated with us, but guys are up there trying, battling," Laird said in his postgame interview on Fox Sports Detroit. "No excuses. Just got to go out there & execute. Other teams are doing it against us. ... We just gotta play better baseball."

Still plenty of grist for the mill, as we move our live chat from Thursday to Tuesday this week.
