Miguel Cabrera is having himself an MVP-type season, reaching career highs in home runs (40) and RBI (129) after hitting two homers and driving in six runs in Tuesday's 12-2 win over the Athletics.
He finished the night first in batting average in the American League (.333), first in RBI and second in homers, just two off the MLB-leading pace of 42, set by Texas' Josh Hamilton.

"Ahh, it make you feel good, but ... it's not about personal numbers," he said.
It's about winning games for Cabrera, who still thinks the Tigers have a good shot, despite coming into the night — and going out of it, as well — three games behind the White Sox.
He doesn't give himself the same odds at winning the triple crown, however.
